How to Bach Party

This is how you Bach party.

Well… all you need is enough people to cover the top, middle and bottom voices. The fugues start in C and C minor and progress through the keys. Most of the fugues are three-voice or four-voice situations; in Book 1 there are two five-voice fugues and one two-voicer. The number of voices is indicated in the number in () in the title of each PDF. Each link is a complete set of parts. For the folders marked “Middle/Lower,” the instrument would be playing the tenor voice in a four-voice fugue and the middle voice in a three-voicer (and doubling the alto voice players). The folders marked “Alto parts” will always be playing the 2nd voice from the top. There is an absurd amount of leger lines in the “Tenor Part in treble clef” book… for the bass clarinet players out there. In the Fulton Street version of the Bach Party, you have to play through at least one entire book so you can feel the progression through the keys… and then you sing the C major fugue to finish. Have fun everybody!
